
The following section describes a number of successful projects that Ascentia Corporate Coaching have been involved in.
We have been working closely with a FTSE 30 company on a Senior Leadership Development Programme. This programme has two week long modules. The program was run in conjunction with a US university bringing together world leaders in the fields of Strategy, Marketing, Finance and Leadership.
The programme included delegates working on strategic projects between modules, board involvement and Executive Coaching. Ascentia coaches provided coaching support to 50% of attendees: the support involved 360 feedback, Hogan Feedback (psychometric test), observations and coaching.
A majority of clients focused on behavioural issues to improve their personal impact, team engagement, communication at board level as well as enhancing their strategic focus. A high proportion of delegates continue with Ascentia coaches by virtue of the impact of the coaching experience.
This organisation reviewed their coaching provision in 2006 and Ascentia have been appointed onto their preferred supplier list.
A major High Street Bank had aggressive growth targets and were engaged in a Results-Based Leadership programme for 60 Area Directors and 5 Executive Committee Members.
The programme included Leadership Team off sites to develop the road map to take the business forward and build team performance, a focused coaching programme including 360 feedback and interviews for each of the participants and modular skills development training. The program had a key focus on supporting leaders to move from the state of "competent managers" to “effective leaders” and through careful diagnostics and design to create a Leadership Culture within the business.
Ascentia provided the coaching component of this Leadership Development project and feedback from the Bank has been extremely positive. The bank has exceeded many of its expectations regarding performance, leadership and creating a HPO. The effectiveness of the coaching programme was rated at 83%. Additionally the Bank has observed that Ascentia is the most professional organisation they have worked with. Several Directors contracted additional coaching to address additional needs.
Since this programme Ascentia have been recommended internally within the bank and awarded a number of significant additional individual coaching assignments. We provide coaching to their top talent and have recently ( April 2007) been confirmed as one of three preferred coaching suppliers for key talent.
Ascentia designed a 40 manager and 10 director Leadership Development Programme over 15 months. The project included 360° feedback, MBTI analysis, one to one coaching, group coaching, Action Learning Sets, Team Facilitation and Board Facilitation. Ascentia designed, developed and project managed the complete process. The project has received wide recognition within the Government Office and is being proactively promoted by the Government Office to its colleagues as an example of how Leadership Development Programmes can be very successful. As a result of this Ascentia have been awarded further projects in this Sector.
Ascentia is supporting one of the leading IT organisations as part of a global Leadership Development programme. The organisation is focusing on developing a fully integrated Leadership Development approach which cascades through out the organisation and has clear trigger points for different levels and challenges. Different executive coaching propositions are offered. The focus is very much on behavioural coaching as developed by Marshall Goldsmith.
In addition to the larger scale projects (which are substantially one-to-one coaching initiatives albeit involving large numbers) we are also engaged in a number of 8 – 12 person projects in both the Public and Private Sectors. The individuals have been coached either as individuals or as teams or a combination of both. We evaluate all our coaching initiatives and typically receive evaluation ratings in the order of 80+% from both the satisfaction of the coaching and its impact.
Our individual coaching projects remain a core feature of our business, with a range of Assessments to select from to drive the coaching program (e.g. Firo B, Hogan, MBTI), the use of Feedahead® to drive behavioural change and a ROI analysis as an integral part of the coaching program. Ascentia are working in a number of sectors (Banking, Retail, IT, Business Solutions, Pharmaceuticals, Higher Education, NHS, Central and Local Government and Utilities) at senior levels using this approach.
Two of our Case Studies covering ROI (in the public sector) have been accepted for publication by the newly formed International Journal of Coaching. We have also received ISO9001 accreditation as a quality mark for our business and coaching processes.
